The Canvas Horse 2026
Welcome to "The Canvas Horse 2026," the fourth annual show of the Steeplechase Gallery! Dollars raised will support the Temple Gwathmey Steeplechase Foundation’s mission to fund Opportunity, Growth & Change within the sport. FORTY PERCENT of your purchase price stays with TGSF to support steeplechase-supportive programs. In total over $15,000 has been raised for TGSF through Steeplechase Gallery, to support programs in jockey and equine safety, plus apprentice and youth racing opportunities. The online gallery is open through March 31, 2026.
The Official Artist of the National Steeplechase Association, Sam Robinson, is once again prominently featured in this year's show. You will recognize many of his scenes from the 2025 steeplechase season. You’ll also see work from 2023 Foxfield Spring Races featured artist Liz Chomicki; prominent Radnor Hunt artist Genevieve Snyder; and poster artist for the National Sporting Library & Museum 2022 and 2023 Polo Classic artist Linda Volrath. And we’re pleased to introduce a NEW to Steeplechase Gallery artist, Sam Fielding! Sam is a native of the steeplechase world in the Green Spring Valley in Maryland and now calls upstate New York home.
Each artist has several pieces for sale.
For the first time we are also offering several framed, signed prints - we’re grateful to our donors who have given these prints to TGSF to sell.
We’ve continued to push the long term vision of Steeplechase Gallery - to grow beyond racing, to subjects of the many varied equine disciplines by a variety of artists with different styles.

Sam Robinson is an Equine Sporting Artist in the tradition of Alfred Munnings, Franklin Voss and many other painters who make horses, hounds and country life their primary subjects. His home and studio are in the Greenspring Valley of north Baltimore County, an easy drive from Maryland’s Hunt Country and the rural courses that host timber racing in the region. He paints in a fluent representational style using gouache field studies and photo references to create his larger studio oils.
Sam is a Signature Member of the American Academy of Equine Art and is the Official Artist for the National Steeplechase Association.

Liz Chomicki is a first generation Canadian equestrian and has been involved with horses for over 20 years. She graduated from Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, Ontario, where she honed her skills with countless equine studies. After pursuing other interests, Liz began transitioning into a traditional painter out to portray the horse and rider. She can now be found traveling throughout Canada and the US to capture her own scenic compositions and the stories they tell. Her goal as an artist is to bring together light, color and the composition in harmony with the horse.
Notable gallery exhibitions include the European Museum of Modern Art (Barcelona, Spain), Sotheby's (virtual), National Sporting Library and Museum (Middleburg, VA), and the Master of Foxhounds Association (Middleburg, VA).

Genevieve Snyder was born and raised in Chester County, where she and her husband Eric still reside. From childhood she found joy in painting and drawing. Graduating with a degree in Communications and Design Genevieve went on to work in television set design. While working in that industry she continued to explore painting just for fun but eventually the hobby consumed her. In 2005 she left TV to pursue a career as a fine artist and hasn’t looked back.
Since that time her award winning paintings have been on display at juried shows, invitationals, and a solo shows. Her work has been used for cards, posters, calendars and in magazines.
When not working on commission pieces Genevieve finds inspiration in the relationship between man, animal and nature. This curiosity has lead to a large body of work focused on sporting art, primarily fox hunting. It should be noted her work is not exclusively in this genre and she willingly explores any subject that catches her eye.
(PLEASE NOTE - Genevieve’s artwork will ship out in April)
